We rescued Sammy after his owner passed away. He was so overweight he could barely walk, and he was also blind. After a few months, we were able to help him lose some weight, and he was able to have surgery to remove the excess skin around his face so he could see again. Today, Sammy is loving life — especially when it’s time for bed. Like an old man, this boy is in bed by 4 PM… and don’t disturb him!
These 2 ducks think they run the whole sanctuary. The pigs are their best friends. We rescued them when they were babies. There were 3 of them, but one died before we got home.
For the last 5 years, I have been helping take care of Ginger and her owner. Her owner has dementia and has a hard time taking care of Ginger and herself.
“We just don’t have time for her.” That’s what they told us. She would just stay in a small pen all day alone.
This beautiful girl also came from a household of domestic violence. Her owners drove from Pennsylvania to bring Rosie to us.
During Hurricane Matthew, Gracie Lou and the family dog were left behind while the family went to a safe place. At some point, Gracie Lou was attacked by the dog, which ripped up her shoulder, back, and both back legs.
Gracie Mae came from a very dysfunctional situation. There was a lot of yelling and abuse from an individual living inside the home.
Rocky was dumped at a horse farm close to the Atlanta airport. We got a call asking for help. This was my daughter’s first rescue alone.
