Our Mission

Southern Oaks Sanctuary is home to around 36 pigs who arrived neglected, abandoned, or in need of medical care. Each pig receives love, safety, and a place to belong. The Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to protecting, rehabilitating, and advocating for these intelligent and emotional animals.

A Safe Haven Built on Compassion

Southern Oaks Sanctuary is a place where compassion meets action. Located in Thomson, Georgia, the sanctuary provides a safe, loving home for pigs who have been neglected, abandoned, or in need of a second chance. What began with the rescue of a single pig has grown into a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to protecting and caring for pigs who deserve better.

Every day at the sanctuary is centered around providing consistent care, nourishment, and a peaceful environment where animals can thrive. From feeding routines to medical attention, every detail matters. Behind the scenes, there is both hard work and heart—moments of challenge balanced by the joy of seeing animals heal, trust, and live safely.

Southern Oaks Sanctuary exists because of compassion—and it continues because of community. With the support of donors, volunteers, and animal lovers, the sanctuary is able to expand its reach and provide lifelong care to those who need it most.
