Gracie Lou
During Hurricane Matthew, Gracie Lou and the family dog were left behind while the family went to a safe place. At some point, Gracie Lou was attacked by the dog, which ripped up her shoulder, back, and both back legs.
The vet in Florida was able to save her, and she lived a good life until the owners unfortunately separated. The woman began having health problems that became so severe she couldn’t work and lost everything, including their home.
They moved, and the new living conditions were not suitable, with no heating or air conditioning. The owner called and asked if we could at least save Gracie Lou.
We tried to help the owner with some things, but she wouldn’t take any help. She just wanted to make sure Gracie Lou would be okay.
We fell in love with this girl. There was no way she was going to anyone else but us. She lives here now and rules the ladies around here — even me sometimes.
This girl is so precious. Her hooves were 5 inches long, and she was dragging her stomach when we got her. Her stomach had cuts where the hooves cut it while walking.
Today she is dealing with arthritis and needs lots of medication, supplements, red light laser therapy, and massages.
